# 🥖 What is Crouton?

**What is Crouton?**

Crouton Finance is a stableswap DEX on TON backed by TON Foundation, TON Ventures and Curve Finance math, offering stableswap DEX and one-click investment savings account for Telegram’s huge user base.

A StableSwap is a type of decentralized exchange algorithm specifically designed to facilitate the efficient trading of stablecoins or other assets that have similar values (e.g., tokens like stTON/TON or synthetic assets). Unlike traditional constant product market makers (e.g., Uniswap’s AMM), StableSwap algorithms focus on minimizing slippage and maximizing capital efficiency for trading assets with low price volatility.

In the context of StableSwap, the Automated Market Maker (AMM) uses a specialized pricing algorithm designed to facilitate efficient swaps between assets with similar or “stable” prices. This differs from traditional AMMs (like Uniswap’s constant product model x\*y = k) by optimizing the curve for minimal slippage and high capital efficiency for closely priced assets.

**Team**👨‍💻

Crouton is developed by a team of experts with extensive experience in blockchain technology, decentralized finance, smart contract development, and web3 design. Our team has a proven track record of building innovative solutions, including decentralized exchanges, lending protocols, non-custodial wallets, and gas-efficient smart contracts used by leading CEXs and payment providers.

When TON Foundation and Curve Finance announced their [StableSwap Competition](https://cointelegraph.com/news/ton-foundation-curve-finance-stablecoin-swap-collaboration), team knew it was time for action. Built from the ground up, [Crouton has won in the competition](https://blog.ton.org/infrastructures-for-stable-assets-with-curve) gaining support from Curve Finance and TON to set the stage for even more development ahead.

Crouton then head to TON Gateway Conference to [actively participate on the stage](https://www.youtube.com/live/P8BQm5JtHzw?t=20814s).
